We encourage all applicants for .ie domain names to register their domain through one of the official .ie Registrars
The IEDR strongly recommends that you use a listed .ie Registrar for your domain name application. Our Registrars provide competetive rates for registration and hosting services.
Please note that your Registrar is responsible for providing all the support you will need for your application. When you choose to apply throguh a listed .ie Registrar, they will give you all the information and assistance you need in registering your domain name and are your primary point of contact for any queries relating to your domain.

There are 4 steps to applying to register a .ie Domain Name:
- Make sure your chosen Domain Name is not currently registered by checking our Search facilities;
- Read the registration Quick Guide to Registration Policy to ensure that you can provide information showing your claim to the proposed domain name.

- Arrange Domain Name Hosting through an ISP or Hosting Company;
- Submit the on-line Application to register a .ie Domain Name.

A member of our Registration Services team will be in touch within 2 working days either indicating acceptance or detailing any problems with the application. NB -Domain Name registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note: The IEDR does not condone or support the secondary sale of .ie domains. If it comes to our attention that any .ie domain is for sale, we withhold the right to delete that domain, with five days notice.
